About Us

Bringing Clarity to Cybersecurity

Standard Pentest was founded to address a fundamental problem in the cybersecurity industry: the lack of standardization in penetration testing.

Our Mission

Making Security Testing Transparent and Reliable

Our mission at Standard Pentest is to bring clarity and consistency to penetration testing through automation. Today, the quality and process of pentests often vary widely between testers and across years, making results hard to standardize or improve.

We believe security testing should be transparent, reliable, and continually enhanced. That's why we deliver automated, repeatable assessments so organizations can measure progress, meet compliance, and strengthen security more frequently than traditional models allow.

By augmenting human expertise with automation, we help you establish a security baseline you can trust and build upon.

The Problem

Why We Started Standard Pentest

Regulatory bodies and cyber insurance providers require penetration testing in contracts and audits. However, there is no standardization of what a pentest is. Typically a pentest is conducted by a firm that creates revenue using billable hours and is not fully transparent as to how many hours were actually worked and what activities were conducted.

Given that revenue is tied to billable hours and there's a lack of standardization, there is no driving force to create efficiency. In fact, most firms are disincentivized to create standards or efficiency as it's a conflict of interest with their business model.

This leads to confusion in the marketplace. Without a baseline, there's no means to drive efficiency—leaving SMBs underserved and at a competitive disadvantage. Given that tests are human-led and vary from engagement to engagement, there is no consistency and no means of improvement.

Standard Pentest was created to solve this problem through automation and standardization.
